Songfacts |
Hier encore is one of the best known tunes of Charles Aznavour. It was published in 1964. The chanson was covered by many musicians and translated in different languages.1969 the English version Yesterday When I Was Young entered the US Billboard Charts in the interpretation of Roy Clark. Typical for the vocal of Charles Aznavour is his very freely variated rhythm. In the jazzinotes score you find the composed vocal with it's easy rhythm in 16th as well as the interpreted very complicated rhythm transcribed note-for-note. The piano is arranged close to the original recording. The violin is transcribed note-for-note. As alternative you find it's melody in Bb (e.g. for clarinet or soprano sax.)- Attention: Here you find a version only for piano & vocal (the violin is integrated in the right hand of the piano). In the jazzinotes edition you find: score 11 pages, vocal composed 2 pages, vocal interpreted 2 pages, violin 1 page, alternative melody in Bb 1 page, piano & vocal 5 pages, piano & vocal & violin 7 pages, in total 29 pages. |
