Songfacts:

The sheet music of Ist da jemand (Is there someone) is arranged for piano. The sound of the piano is based on the original recording. The piano notes are easy to play and still develop their charm. Because the chord symbols are also taken into account, the accompaniment can be played by other instruments, e.g. guitar. The vocal notes correspond exactly to the original recording: album so schön anders and at the same time hit single Ist da jemand.

The song entered the singles charts shortly after its publication in March 2017. It became known, among other things, through the television programs Schlag den Star (ProSieben) and Aspekte (ZDF). The YouTube video showed over 67 million views in June 2021.

Adel Tawil was born on August 15, 1978 in Berlin as the first child of a North African immigrant family. His father is Egyptian, his mother Tunisian. In the late 1990s he was a member of the boy group The Boyz. Since 2005 he has formed the duo Ich + Ich with Annette Humpe. In 2013 he released his first solo album: Lieder, which climbed to number 4 of the album charts. The album So schön anders (So nicely different), on which Ist da jemand is represented, reached number 1.About the content: The dark, depressive, colorless text of the stanzas contrasts with the hopeful and bright refrain. The question mark is torn from its initial question, "Ist da jemand?" (Is someone there?).
