Songfacts

Martin Tingvall travels the world not only as a solo pianist but also with his trio. PA VÄG (which means ‘on the road’) is therefore a characteristic theme. The music is at the same time intimate, bridging on classical, searching and full of surprises. Written in the unusual key of G# minor, it is nevertheless quite comfortable for the fingers.  The jazzinotes edition, approved by Tingvall himself, has been transcribed Note-for-Note, including all of the characteristic ornamentation (especially the grace notes from above in the main theme).  In the solo, the chord symbols have also been notated. PA VÄG is the only piece set for solo piano in the trio album VÄGEN. Upon its release in 2011, it rose immediately to the top of the jazz charts, where it remained in first place for over half a year. The title track from VÄGEN (for trio) is also now available on jazzinotes. There you can find out more about Martin Tingvall and his groups members. The complete sheet music for the albums VÄGEN (Tigvall Trio) and EN NY DAG (piano solo)  is planned for release.
