Songfacts:

Die Internationale in Moll (The International in Minor) has lost the atmosphere of departure of the original. The main emotion ist mourning. There is no development left: The third chorus goes back to the beginning theme. The theme and its counterpart change between piano and vocal. As a melody instrument the oboe would be perfect. But other woodwind instruments like saxophone are possible, evtl. strings or even guitar. On the recording you find the solo vocal sung with meaningless sylllables. For the melody you find a part in C, Bb and Eb to realize alle these instrumentations. By the way you also may substitute the piano: the right hand by a second melody instrument, the left hand e.g. by double bass or violoncello.
