Songfacts:

The piano accompaniment of the jazzinotes sheet music edition is arranged close to the original recording. It is easy to play and still sounds good. The singing corresponds exactly to the recording. The choir is also notated in the chorus. In the end, the chorus on the original recording is sung only by a cappella choir. This is taken into account in the jazzinotes edition: The choir is notated for four parts (two female and two male voices). As an alternative, the last chorus can be sung like a normal chorus.

Exactly the same authors are involved in "Vincent" as in the earlier chart success "Wie schön du bist": Daniel Faust, Sarah Connor, Peter Plate and Ulf Leo Sommer. Sarah Connor's Wie schön du bist and two versions of "Music Is The Key" are also available at jazzinotes: Album and Live.

"Vincent" appeared 2019 on the album "HERZ KRAFT WERKE". The official video met with a great response and was already viewed over 5 million times in July. The YouTube lyric video is also interesting: here.

The song is about the coming-out of a boy. According to Sarah Connor, Vincent really does exist in her circle of acquaintances. The name in her song probably stands in general for a young person who is developing their sexual identity. However difficult this may be, Vincent is encouraged to stand by himself on his/her way. Because of the first line of text "Vincent doesn't get it up when he thinks of girls", the song is not broadcast by some radio stations or is broadcast without this beginning. In addition to Rosenstolz and Helene Fischer / Kerstin Ott (also available at jazzinotes: "Regenbogenfarben" in two versions: Kerstin Ott and Kerstin Ott / Helene Fischer), Sarah Connor is one of the few prominent pop musicians who deal aggressively and explicitly with the topic.
