"Biene Maja" is the theme song of the German-Austrian-Japanese animated television series "Maya the Bee", which aired from 1975 to 1980. It is an adaptation of the "Maya the Bee" novels by Waldemar Bonsels. Two seasons, each with 52 episodes, were produced. The jazzinotes arrangement is an instrumental version.
The German theme song, "Biene Maja", was composed by Karel Svoboda. In the first season, it was sung by Karel Gott. The jazzinotes version refers to the slightly faster tempo version from the second season, arranged by James Last and performed by a women's choir.
