Songfacts:

Attention: Included are the original version in B major and a transposed version in Bb major. Both contain clarinet and trumpet in Bb and also in C (e.g. for snythesizer or other instruments in C).

The note-for-note transcription of C'est Si Bon includes the score and all parts: vocal (Louis Armstrong), clarinet in Bb (one may be omitted), trumpet in Bb (Louis Armstrong), trombone, piano and double bass. In the drums only the basic pattern is notated.

The french pianist Henri Betti composed the tune very quickly in 1947 and asked André Hornet to write the lyrics afterwards. He choose the third version, not the favourite of Hornet. Edith Piaf refused to sing this tune and recommended it to Yves Montand, who refused, too. Some not well known interpreters recorded the tune. Later Montand changed his mind an recorded the song - with great success: e.g. in Italy it became a No 1 charts hit. Later on some famous musicians covered this song, e.g. Eartha Kitts and Jolie Môme.
