Teddy Wilson is one of the major jazz pianists ever. Her was born 1912 in Austin, he died 1986 in New Britain (Connecticut). He studied piano in Tuskegee. From 1929 he performed in Chicago, first together with the clarinetist Jimmy Noone, then with Louis Armstrong. 1933 he moved to New York, together with his wive, the songwriter Irene Kitchings. There he performed together with Billie Hollyday, Helen Ward, Lester Young, Ben Webster etc. From 1935 he was member of the Benny Goodman Trio, together with Gene Krupa (drums). This trio was one of the first mixed trios (with Teddy Wilson as Afro-American). 1936 Lionel Hampton joined them.

Typical for his piano playing are tenth in the left hand. Many of them you find in "I Feel Like A Feather In The Breeze". The tune seems clear and easy, but it is not easy to play!
